The Supreme Court and My Hometown
About Hometowns
The Supreme Court and My Hometown is an immersive, in-person civics education program for high school students designed to make the Supreme Court more accessible. Each program is sponsored and supported by the local federal court in partnership with the Supreme Court Historical Society.
Eligibility
To apply for Hometowns, students must:
- Be a current or rising 10th, 11th, or 12th grader
- Be able to attend all sessions in person
Application Process
- Complete the Hometowns Program application
- Observe the max word count
- Take your time developing your responses
- Request a letter of recommendation from a trusted educator or community member at least two weeks before the application closes
- Please try your best not to ask someone at the last minute
- Wait for a response from the SCHS staff member leading the program
- Applications are typically open for 2-3 months
- Acceptance, Waitlist, and Denial Decisions are sent two weeks after the close date
- If you are waitlisted, you could be accepted up until one week before the program starts
