The Supreme Court and My Hometown

About Hometowns

The Supreme Court and My Hometown is an immersive, in-person civics education program for high school students designed to make the Supreme Court more accessible. Each program is sponsored and supported by the local federal court in partnership with the Supreme Court Historical Society.

Examine the structure and function of the Judicial Branch in order to understand its interactions with the Legislative and Executive Branches.
Provide an in-depth, experiential, and locally related learning by studying the constitutional questions and procedural history of a Supreme Court case that originated in their hometown.
Interact with their local government and community through educational experiences with judges, attorneys, professors, and historians.
Embrace the roles and responsibilities of active citizens through the creation of an educational capstone project for their community.
