  • Civil Service

    the permanent professional branches of a government’s administration, excluding military and judicial branches and elected politicians.

  • Class Action Lawsuit

    a type of civil lawsuit brought on behalf of many people who have been harmed in the same way by the same entity (such as a business); because they do not have the resources individually to sue the responsible party, they group together in a single case.

  • Class Legislation

    laws that create unnecessary and unjustified distinctions between groups of people, applying different rules to some individuals or groups but not others, without a reasonable basis.

  • Classical Education

    An education strategy that focused on math, reading, and writing.

  • Clayton Antitrust Act

    a 1914 U.S. federal law that aims to prevent anti-competitive practices and promote fair competition among businesses.

  • Clerk

    a person employed in an office or bank to keep records, accounts, and undertake other routine administrative duties.

  • Clerking

    A job that is responsible for maintaining records, research, and writing.

  • Cohesion

    The action or fact of forming a united whole.

    the ideological conflict between the U.S. and the Soviet Union during the second half of the 20th century

    a person with whom one works in a profession or business.
